This directory includes precompiled binaries for am-utils-6.0. To install them, you can untar them and install them by hand. If you like something more automated, you can untar them *inside* an already untarred am-utils source package, and then cd to the A.* directory, and type "make install". Problem is, you have to match the binary package the source package. You can take a look at the prebuilt amd (run ./amd/amd -v) to find what version the binaries were compiled for. If the binaries and the sources do not match, then running "make install" will result in first building those files that are not updated with respect to the sources. If the binaries and sources do not match, you had to "make" or even "buildall" to update things. Sorry I do not have access to all of these systems all the time, so I provide here what I can. At a future date, I plan to include a more properly pre-packaged set of binaries, ala Solaris' pkgadd. Erez Zadok, Maintainer, am-utils.
